Dear Member,
"If there be any truer measure of a man than by what he
does, it must be by what he gives." Robert South
Ralph and Teme Tash are my parents, and as I grow older,
I realize the blessing of having them as my parents. They
give of themselves to organizations that they are passionate
about. This past week I attended the Athena International
luncheon at The Palmer House. Nine women were honored. Each
was successful personally and professionally, but what was
phenomenal, was the amount of time they spent helping
organizations and giving of their time to help.
How many of us say, "I'm too tired", "I don't have the
time", "They don't need me"? These nine women, and many more
that I know are always finding ways to help. It does not
have to be monetary, it can be time which is even more
valuable.
Challenge - find something you are passionate about. It
could be women's issues, children's issues, the homeless,
and start making a difference. Give back with your time.
Remember, no matter how small the pebble, once it hits the
water, the ripple spreads throughout the water.
Thank you mom and dad for being good role models for me
to follow. Your grandchildren are carrying on the tradition.
Sharan Tash
